Subodh Sharma is currently Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in India. He holds PhD from University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. After completing PhD in 1996 in the field of Hydrobiology, Prof. Sharma received Post Doctoral Fellowship in 2001 for research on Paleolimnology using head capsules of midges as indicators of climate change in the high altitude lakes of the Himalaya at the same university. Nine years later in 2010, he was awarded Senior Fulbright Research Scholar fellowship for continuation of the research in Maryland, USA. His research interests include WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), and biological assessment of water quality of mountain rivers and high-altitude lakes using macroinvertebrates. Dr. Sharma has nearly three decades of teaching, research, and administrative experiences at Kathmandu University in Nepal. He is active member of Freshwater Science Society, USA and is Chair of South Asia Chapter.
