Please join Dr. Robyn Smyth, permanent Program Director in the Division of Environmental Biology at the U.S. National Science Foundation, for a Lunch and Learn. Dr. Smyth will fill us in on the changes happening at NSF on many levels but focus her discussion on the questions you bring about the funding landscape at NSF. Please come ready to engage!

About Dr Robyn Smyth
Robyn Smyth currently serves as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Ecosystem Science division, a position held since September 2021, and previously worked as a Rotating Program Director. From August 2012 to September 2023, Robyn held the role of Associate Research Professor of Environmental and Urban Studies at Bard College, focusing on teaching, advising, and conducting freshwater research and outreach. Additionally, Robyn served as an Assistant Faculty member, teaching and advising in the Environmental and Climate Policy M.S. program. Prior experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, specializing in bio-physical ocean modeling, and a Knauss Fellowship at NSF, where Robyn provided staff support for the Advisory Committee for Environmental Research and Education. Robyn holds a PhD in Aquatic Biology/Limnology from UC Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree in Water Resources from the University of Vermont, and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
